NextClaw v0.45.0 adds a portable way to run Service Apps. Developers can compile Rust business logic into a WebAssembly Component and let NextClaw run it across desktop platforms.

Features

  • Build once, run across platforms: NextClaw loads a WebAssembly Component with the native runner shipped in the product. When the app is installed on macOS, Windows, or Linux, you do not need a separate copy of the app logic for each platform.
  • Start with practical tools: The included Daily Toolkit has a daily list, quick notes, a focus timer, and contact organizing. Together, they demonstrate saved data, resident background events, module collaboration, panel permissions, and Agent access to app capabilities.

Get started

To build this kind of app, start with Portable Runtime, then follow Build a Portable Service App to create your first Rust + WebAssembly Component app.

nextclaw app check, nextclaw app dev, and nextclaw app call support this development and debugging path.

Current scope

This capability is experimental. The official Guest development path currently covers Rust. Secrets, files and blobs, long-running and streaming capabilities, and production-grade isolation for untrusted code are still being developed.
